Meet Lisa

Before moving to the Bay Area in 2012 with my husband, son, and daughter, I practiced corporate and securities law in Virginia and DC, which included advising companies and non-profit organizations on governance matters.

Since moving to the Bay Area, I have served on the board at my children’s parent participation preschool, and I have been an active parent in our neighborhood schools in the Mountain View Whisman School District for more than ten years. I have served as a classroom volunteer and as a parent leader in the community as a PTA board member and as a member of district-level focus groups and task forces. I have also been a longtime advocate for student safety and wellness and have been a volunteer leader with Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.

I grew up in Kennesaw, Georgia, in suburban Atlanta, as the daughter of a used car salesman and a stay-at-home mom (who had a craft business on the side). Neither of my parents graduated from college, but they were thrilled to support me as I embraced the opportunities provided in my local public schools - from math team to student government to Model UN and theater. With the support of amazing teachers and mentors, I became the first of my immediate family to graduate from college, and I went on to law school. I am a proud graduate of Duke University and Notre Dame Law School.

I am running now to serve on the Board of Trustees for the Mountain View Whisman School District to ensure every student has access to a high quality education that meets their individual needs, giving every student the opportunity to succeed. As a Governing Board Member, I will prioritize board oversight and transparency, centering student needs in all spending decisions, and engaging with students, parents, and other stakeholders. I will also advocate to provide resources and support for district initiatives to improve student wellbeing on every school campus.
